live ill. design to thrill...
Effortless elegance is how I would classify this look. It’s super classy and chic in such an understated way (as I am such a huge fan of, of course) and speaks volumes of the designers taste and elegance. I love the light airy-ness of the furniture selection and how it coordinates beautifully with the millwork. The absolute best part about this design however are the stunning dark grey walls. Grey walls are the epitome of classy, contemporary interiors. I feel you could really NEVER go wrong with a great grey wall, whether high in saturation or low. There is such a common misconception that grey walls are cold or dull, when truly that’s not the case at all. Granted, grey walls can go really dull really fast so it is important to be aware of the LRV, or ‘Light Reflectance Value’ when selecting a paint color. The higher the LRV percentage the more light that particular color mixture reflects–thus, a more luminous wall depicting more depth and dimension, rather than a paint color that rests flat on the wall. 50% LRV or higher reflects light beautifully–eliminating any dull, flat, or cold feeling from your grey.
